aPPLE dUMPLING dESSERT
1 1/3c Shorting
8-9T Cold Water
8c Peeled, Cored, Sliced Apples
1c Brown Sugar
Boil until dissolved
In bowl combine flour & salt. Cut in shortening. Sprinkle with water and mix. Divide into 3 parts. Roll one third to fit the bottom of 9 x 13 pan. Add half of the apple mixture. Repeat with dough and remaining apple mixture. Top with the remaining dough. Cut 2" slits through all the layers. Pour syrup over top. Back at 400° for 35-40 minutes.
